(APS), a leader in talent acquisition management and recruiting business solutions, announced the addition of a new Outlook toolbar for users of its SmartSearch solution, which is the first web-based applicant tracking system to integrate with the MS Outlook Calendar in real time.
The new Outlook toobar is similar to the popular Google toolbar and provides users with a "power menu" that allows importing of inbound email content into the SmartSearch database with one click. The system can save email as a note in the sender's record, or create a new record, and if the email has an attachment, such as a resume, documents are saved within the record ? no cutting and pasting required. The toolbar supports the latest Microsoft DOCX format, and features built-in duplicate checking.
Toolbar functions also log outbound email content. Users can choose to send and forward an outgoing email message so it gets logged in the notes or document storage area of the corresponding record within the SmartSearch database.
In addition, the new Outlook toolbar includes "short cut" access to records by searching for the email address of the sender. The menu selections allow users to instantly find the sender?s record by searching for the email address and automatically opening the corresponding record.
Another short cut, similar to the Express Look-up function within the SmartSearch application, allows users to enter a name, SSN, phone number, email address, company name, job title, or other information into a new "express find" field on the Outlook toolbar, and the system will open up a browser window, automatically log-in the user, and open the desired record.
This technology enhancement is now available to all SmartSearch users at no additional cost as part of its latest Version 11.3 updates. The SmartSearch system offers real-time, talent management software that centralizes sourcing, recruiting, applicant tracking, and hiring activities in an online database where all the pieces come together.
